This time though, I feel it occasionally throughout the day, but it truly affects me when it is bed time. You know that comfortable position you get into right when it is time to town out and lights and go to bed, and how good it feels to finally just lay down from a hard days work? Well, I can't get that feeling anymore because of this. I lay down and just hope that I won't get the achy, creepy, tingling sensation from my hips down to my ankle. Unfortunately, the past 3 nights have been rough and it seems like there is nothing I can do about it.
On average recently, I've been able to fall asleep within 30 minutes of tossing and turning. Normally, it takes me about 5 minutes to get to sleep. Like clock work each night, I've popped out of bed at 3 am to find myself suffering the worst case of achy legs. You know what stinks about having this happen at 3 am? Its 3 am! So I toss and turn and stretch and kick my legs around for a good 30-40 minutes before eventually finding myself in some type of position that is awkward, but sightly less painful, and allows me to get back asleep.
That lasts all of an hour or 2 before it hits again. This morning when it hit me again at 5:30 am, I said screw it and just got up and went for a morning run. Nothing is more frustrating to me than not being able to fall asleep and stay asleep. It has come so easily to me since I was a kid. And now, this whole thing is ruining sleeping for me.
The only silver lining is that it forced me out of bed to go on an early morning run. That's about the only thing keeping me in a good mood. Otherwise, I'd be pretty cranky today and nobody wants that ;)
